Protecting Montana’s Beauty and Wildlife for Future Generations

Montanan’s take pride in their state and everything that it has to offer to its local year round residents, seasonal residents, and the many tourists that each season brings to the state. Montana is not only known for the differences in seasons from the cold Winters to the hot Summers, and the amazing colors that offers in the Spring and Fall, it is also well known for the many different species of wildlife. Some of Montana’s wildlife can be seen in the local National Parks, or walking down the middle of the road, but some live under the water like the fish. Fishing is very popular for local residents as well as tourists during the warm summer months. When fishing in Montana, you can catch not only Trout, but Salmon too.

Montana is also known for its great hiking, biking, boating, and camping. To protect Montana’s wildlife, they have some guidelines that must be followed for the safety of the visitors to the parks and campgrounds, as well as to the wildlife. When visiting places like Glacier National Park, you will be asked to, “Pack In, Pack Out”. This means that everything that you take into the park with you must be taken back out once you leave. This includes garbage as well, because the animals at the park have an amazing sense of smell and if you leave food lying around, you might wake up to a furry four legged animal sleeping next to you and not your significant other. You will also be asked to not feed the wildlife that you come across, because they are wild and can be unpredictable and Montana wants the animals to stay that way. If they are fed by the humans, they will become trusting of the humans and accidents could happen.
